The Spotio alternative built for D2D teams that ship in days, not quarters.
Spotio is built for enterprise field sales with deep CRM integrations. That's a great fit for some teams. For most D2D operators, it's overkill — and the per-rep bill plus 2–4 week onboarding kills momentum. Turf Lion is flat per team and ships ready out of the box.
Who switches and why
Most teams that move to Turf Lion are leaving Spotio for the same three reasons.
First, the per-rep pricing scaled past their patience. Spotio's sweet spot has always been bigger field-sales orgs with budget to match. A 25-rep solar agency wakes up one quarter realizing they're paying more than $1,200/mo just to log doors — and that bill grows with every new closer.
Second, they wanted AI that affects the day, not the report. Spotio has a mature analytics stack, but most D2D owners we hear from say the reports don't change rep behavior. Turf Lion's Smart Route AI re-orders the walking route every morning by which doors will actually answer, and AI Pitch Coach gives each rep instant feedback on their pitch before they knock door one.
Third, setup felt like an enterprise project. Spotio implementations commonly run 2–4 weeks with a customer success manager. That's fine if you're buying for 200 reps. If you're a 12-rep roofing crew trying to start Monday, it's too much.
Being honest
When Spotio is the right call.
We'd rather you stay on Spotio than switch and hit a wall. Here are three honest reasons to keep what you have.
You're an enterprise field sales org
Spotio was built for larger field sales teams with formal sales ops processes. If you have a sales operations function and dedicated CRM admins, you'll feel at home.
Salesforce or HubSpot is your system of record
Spotio's native, bidirectional CRM integrations are best-in-class. Turf Lion exposes a REST API but doesn't match Spotio's out-of-the-box Salesforce sync.
Your reps use Android
Spotio has Android and iOS apps. Turf Lion is iOS only until late 2026. If your team is mixed, stay where you are for now.
When Turf Lion is the better fit
Four reasons teams switch — and don't look back.
You're done with per-rep pricing
Hire 10 more closers and the bill jumps $250–$490 a month on Spotio. Turf Lion is flat per team — hire 30 more reps within your tier and your bill doesn't move.
You want route AI that closes more doors
Smart Route AI uses pooled, anonymized knock outcomes from across the Turf Lion network to put the doors most likely to answer at the top of your route — fresh, every morning.
You want your reps coached, not just reported on
AI Pitch Coach lets reps record a practice pitch and get tone, pacing, and objection-handling feedback in under 60 seconds. Private to the rep — managers don't hear audio.
You need to be running this week, not next month
No CSM, no kickoff call, no 2–4 week onboarding. Sign up, import leads, send your reps the App Store link. 10 minutes per rep to first knock.

From the switchers
What operators say after leaving Spotio.
“We left Spotio after our 3-year renewal hit $1,800/mo for 36 reps. Moved to Turf Lion Growth — same product surface for our reps, $249 flat. Our CFO asked me to do the math three times because she didn't believe it.”

“Spotio took 3 weeks to onboard us. Turf Lion took an afternoon. The reps actually prefer the iPhone app — one of them told me it was the first sales tool he'd ever used that didn't make him hate his job.”

Spotio vs Turf Lion: questions we hear all the time
Is Turf Lion really a Spotio alternative for D2D teams?+
Yes — for most D2D operators. The core surface area overlaps: territory mapping, dispositions, lead tracking, contracts, manager dashboard, commission tracking. Turf Lion adds Smart Route AI, AI Pitch Coach, live commission tracking, and iPad-native layouts on top. Where Spotio wins is deep enterprise CRM integrations (Salesforce, HubSpot) — if those are central to your stack, Spotio may still be the better fit.
How does Turf Lion pricing compare to Spotio?+
Based on publicly listed pricing as of May 2026, Spotio typically runs $25–$49 per rep per month depending on tier and annual commitment. Turf Lion charges flat per team: $99/mo for up to 10 reps, $249/mo for up to 35, $499/mo for up to 75. A 20-rep team on Spotio Pro pays around $980/mo. The same team on Turf Lion Growth pays $249/mo flat. Manager seats are included, not extra.
What does switching from Spotio to Turf Lion look like?+
About a weekend. Export leads as CSV from Spotio, import into Turf Lion via the admin Leads screen, redraw territories on the map, and send the App Store link to your team. Per-rep onboarding is around 10 minutes. We don't charge for migration help — email support@turflion.com and a real person walks you through it.
Does Turf Lion integrate with Salesforce or HubSpot like Spotio does?+
Not natively today. We expose a REST API on the Growth tier and up, which most teams use to push leads and sales into their CRM via Zapier or Make. If you need real-time, bidirectional Salesforce sync — which Spotio offers out of the box — that's a real reason to stay with Spotio for now.
Does Turf Lion work on Android phones?+
iOS only today (iPhone + iPad). Android is on the roadmap for late 2026. If your team is mixed iOS/Android, Spotio is the safer pick right now since it ships both platforms.
Can I keep my contract templates, commission rules, and territory shapes?+
Yes. Upload PDF contract templates in the admin Contracts screen, configure per-product commission rules (flat, percentage, or variant-based) in the Products screen, and draw or import GeoJSON territories on the Territories map. Most teams replicate their Spotio setup in under two hours.
